Tell us about your experience and projects you have done (before eGreen).
During my time before leaving the university I started working as a freelancer in the first instance I took all kinds of projects, whether mobile, backend, frontend but at some point I decided to specialize in web only. Since then I have had the opportunity to cooperate with many startups to materialize their business idea, so it is an environment that I love, to see how something is born and grows completely from scratch, I have no words to describe that. Technically speaking I have worked mainly in Fintech, mobility and sustainability startups.
What are the challenges and opportunities you saw to join the eGreen project?
I was attracted by the opportunity and challenge of developing a blockchain platform to accelerate the reduction and capture of the carbon footprint. The objective is already very attractive. Putting technology to support science with the objective of generating a change with a positive impact on the planet, is something that goes with my purpose, to make available my experience and technology for a better future.
What are the challenges you envision eGreen will face in the coming years?
I feel that the main challenge is the adoption of these types of technologies and knowledge by the majority of people, although we currently have many people using them every day I think that people still need to be more educated about these issues (climate crisis and blockchain), eGreen is the ideal place to do it.
What do you think about the climate crisis?
The climate crisis is undeniably one of the most worrying challenges facing humanity today. Addressing the climate crisis requires immediate and collective action on a global scale. Governments, businesses and individuals must work together to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, transition to renewable energy sources and implement sustainable practices across all sectors.
What are your interests and concerns for the future of the planet because of the climate crisis?
The fight against the climate crisis is a race against time, and the window for meaningful action is narrowing. The decisions we make today will shape the world we leave to future generations. By recognizing the reality of the climate crisis and taking decisive action to combat it, we can aspire to ensure a more sustainable and livable planet for ourselves and those who follow us. Although we probably won't be here to see it, I would not want my children or grandchildren to die along with this planet.
How do you see the development of technology and its contributions to addressing this crisis?
Technology plays a key role in addressing the climate crisis by providing innovative solutions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, improve sustainability and adapt to the changing environment. Things like:
- Carbon Offsetting and Removal
- Electric Transportation
- Carbon Capture and Storage
- Circular Economy, Monitoring and Remote Sensing
- Waste Management and Recycling
- Among others are or will be key in the coming years.
Overall, technology offers a wide variety of tools to address the climate crisis. However, it is important to remember that technology alone is not a silver bullet; its effectiveness depends on systemic changes, political support and a collective commitment to make sustainable decisions at all levels of society.
