Presenting eGreen to MBA students at Babson College

A couple of week ago our CEO & Co-founder, Andres Gonzalez had the great opportunity of presenting eGreen and his personal journey as entrepreneur to MBA students at Babson College who travelled to Chile as part of their program. Here's he tells us his experience.

Smart questions and very interactive session, it was a really good experience and I felt they engaged in the main topics we are working at eGreen.

I explained them that since developing countries are not necessarily the main actor in producing climate change, since the low intensity in their economies, the South of the world can definitively contribute to solve it. Latam, Africa and Asia have the largest opportunities to develop projects that remove CO2e. For instance, in agriculture alone the number of hectares in Latam is 4 times size of Europe and 50% more than in USA. It means Latam could become a huge player in soil carbon, which can remove up to 4-time CO2e than Forest.  But also, almost in any type of removals technique developing countries can do it at scale.

Creating the technological infrastructure to demonstrate to the North of the world what is really happening on those projects on real time is eGreen purpose.

Online measurement of projects using Remote and on ground sensing plus storing that raw data in blockchain allowing stakeholders to see on real time what is going on in every project is eGreen value proposition, we offer measured inventory of removed CO2 not predictions. Of course, we have to follow guidance, standards and ask verification, but if allow that key calculations are made using predictions, we will not be able to transfer real measured value to the North. Also, if we can do this right, we will be bringing better quality life to communities involved in those projects. And you know what, this is really happening now.

In just a few months eGreen got attention of several potential projects around Latam and Africa to deploy new projects or for helping the financing in the scalability of others.

Finally, I think that resilience and perseverance are definitely important qualities when it comes to fighting climate change and pursuing any entrepreneurial endeavor, which was one of the main topics we shared.

It was the first time that I exposed my previous experience as an entrepreneur and how I think this is helping me to handle eGreen´s challenges and how to scale it to become a 1 Gigaton of CO2 a year removing company by 2033.
